The story behind Eric Bompard’s cashmere colour palette
Since 1987, Eric Bompard has stood out from the crowd thanks to a collection with an innovative and unexpected colour palette for luxury cashmere pullovers. Since then, our design office has experimented, as a painter would, on hues and cashmere combinations. This allows us to offer clothing and accessory collections which are audacious and timeless. Succinctly put: always in style. These vibrant colours reflect the Maison’s DNA.
The Maison offers pieces in 100% cashmere, as well as blends using other noble materials such as linen-and-cashmere or linen-and-silk. Where we use cotton, this is organic cotton of the highest quality. This means each customer can choose their cashmere to suit their moods, in strikingly unique colours.
In seeking out the very source of the material and mastering dyeing and knitting techniques, Maison Bompard offers a unique style and vibrant colours enabling each wearer to express their personality.
A passion for colour
The colourist expertise at Maison Eric Bompard is fully expressed in the combining of nuances and a keen sense of mixing and matching. Adapting to moods and to the seasons, the pairing of vibrant colours with natural hues allows for unique silhouettes and personal styles, whether audacious or timeless, to come into being.
AN EXTRAORDINARY COLOUR RANGE
Colour audacity and freedom are at the heart of Maison Eric Bompard’s DNA. From Cinnabar Red to Peridot Green, Solaro Orange or Kinetic Blue, the perfectly-mastered technique of Top Dying, which consists of dyeing colours into the wool mass before spinning them together, lends an extraordinary depth to the colour mixes. This also allows for brand-new colours to be created to produce original cashmere colour palettes.
Thanks to an avant-garde technique which allows for exclusive mottled colours to be created, Maison Eric Bompard has introduced mottled pinks, blues or greens which are as rare as they are recognisable.
HOW TO PRESERVE THE COLOURS OF THE CASHMERE?
To preserve your cashmere’s softness, supple texture and colours, it helps to follow certain tips on washing. And remember: cashmere loves water! It needs to be washed on a regular basis (every two to three times it is worn) to keep the fibres hydrated.
Some pieces, such as coats, require specific techniques. Maison Eric Bompard offers a professional dry cleaning service specialising in the delicate art of dry-cleaning knitwear.

A collection dedicated to cashmere’s natural colours
What is cashmere’s natural colour? Cashmere goats exhibit three distinct natural hair colours: grey, brown, and white. As something of a tribute to the purity of the raw material it selects, Maison Eric Bompard has created a limited-edition capsule: “Absolu Bompard”. It is entirely dedicated to cashmere’s natural colours.
Every piece in this collection is knitted using a preserved fibre, free from any treatment, and guaranteed free from chemical products or dyes. This “Absolu Bompard” capsule is reflective of the Maison’s quintessential knit range, in the three colours of the cashmere goat: grey, brown and white.
Like a winegrower producing a great vintage, our workshops deliberately make limited quantities of clothing, using the world’s finest wools. This pure, exceptionally high-quality material is combined with vanguard techniques, in terms of the ranges of stitching and knitting used.
