A committed Maison with certified designs
Maison Éric Bompard's approach is based on two key principles.
SHORT-CIRCUIT PRODUCTION
By tasking local partners with the manufacturing of our cashmere, we ensure that the material is fully traceable. Our cashmere fibres are directly collected and transformed at source. This short-circuit production helps to preserve the livelihood of farmers and to support local industry.
CHOOSING COMMITTED PARTNERS
Since it was founded, Maison Eric Bompard has worked with partners eligible for GCS (Good Cashmere Standard) certification.
This standard, which especially relates to optimal respect for the wellbeing of animals, is essential in guaranteeing that our values are followed and that our French cashmere is totally traceable.
OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 & OEKO-TEX® MADE IN GREEN Labels
Our sourcing policy means we seek out responsible cashmere fibres. Our Maison involves suppliers in this eco-responsible approach by conducting audits with a view to securing the highest-standard certifications on respect for the environment, health and working conditions.
OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 Label
The OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 label guarantees that no harmful or irritating substances for the skin have been used. These substances include: azo dyes, formaldehyde, cadmium, nickel and many other chemical products.
OEKO-TEX® MADE IN GREEN
This label guarantees not only that our creations are made free from materials harmful to health (this is the basis for the OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100), and that our cashmere products are made in factories which are respectful of the environment and provide socially responsible working conditions.
The Good Cashmere Standard (CGS)
More recently, Maison Bompard was awarded The Good Cashmere Standard (CGS) certification.
This label, which was designed in close collaboration with animal rights specialists and independent experts in cashmere production, guarantees the wellbeing of animals through the auditing of farms, as well as the protection of nature and good working conditions for farmers and farm workers.
Made in France Certification
Bompard cashmere creations are designed in France and are manufactured in the very place the wool is produced, in Inner Mongolia.
For the Atelier Bompard capsule, we have chosen to invest in the revival of textile craftsmanship in France by having the entire capsule knitted domestically.
This virtuous production cycle allows us to claim the "Made in France" certification for this capsule.
