The ERIC BOMPARD Cashmere journey began in 1985. While travelling in the Far East, Eric Bompard discovered that 70% of the worldwide cashmere production comes from the arid lands of Mongolia, and not from Europe as once perceived.
The exquisitely soft cashmere comes from the little plump goats roaming that nomadic region. Combed once or twice a year, the goat down provides 250 to 300 grams of cashmere, equivalent to a knitted pullover.
Such was the belief in his discovery, Eric Bompard gave his own name to the brand and created '' ERIC BOMPARD Cashmere '' opening a range of specialised boutiques and a mail order catalogue service offering the finest quality cashmere. Twenty years on, to wear a ''Bompard '' is the ultimate cashmere experience.
Today, the brand distributes more than 400 000 products a year with sales of 45 millions euros. The brand owns 25 boutiques in France, 2 in Germany, 1 in Switzerland, 3 in Belgium, 1 in Hong Kong and 3 in China.
The sheer quality of the cashmere, together with both elegant and innovative designs, has resulted in ERIC BOMPARD Cashmere being recognized by Ernst & Young and the magazine l'Entreprise for the «Grand Prix de l'Entrepreneur '', as among the 100 best-performing and most dynamic French enterprises.
Eric Bompard is the signature of French cashmere. Each winter, he creates more than 80 new styles in 40 different colours. His elegant blends of classical and original styles are the quintessence of 20 years' work.
As the partner of the largest worldwide cashmere producer, Eric Bompard promises his customers that we only use the thinner yarn's diameter, which improves the condition and strength of the yarn. We also only use the longer fibres, which improves the quality of the spinning. The success of the company has certainly been the result of the exceptional quality of the cashmere.
